The Objects of the Charity are for the benefit of the public, including Indigenous Peoples and other local communities of the world?s rainforests: 1. To advance environmental conservation, protection and improvement, including but not limited to, conserving or assisting in the conservation of rainforests, including all flora, fauna, rivers, waterways and other natural resources therein; 2. To advance the education of the public on the need to conserve rainforests and other natural resources, and the need for a balance of such resources for the long-term benefit of the human race and all other living things; 3. To promote human rights, including the right to self-determination of Indigenous Peoples and local communities of the world?s rainforests (as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent United Nations conventions and declarations) throughout the world, including by all or any of the following means: a. monitoring human rights breaches; b. obtaining redress for victims of human rights abuses; c. providing technical advice to government and others on human rights matters; and d. raising awareness of and promoting respect for human rights issues among individuals and corporations, In furtherance of this Object, but not otherwise, the Trustees shall have power to engage in political activity provided that the Trustees are satisfied that the proposed activities will further the purposes of the Charity to an extent justified by the resources committed and the activity is not the dominant means by which the Charity carries out its Objects.
